Our Mission
The Pay It Forward Fund was established by a breast cancer survivor to help women cancer patients who are struggling financially while undergoing treatment. The fund assists patients with the payment of basic living expenses.

Our hope is that the women who receive help will someday, somehow—financially or otherwise—find a way to “pay it forward” by
helping other women during treatment.

Financial Implications of Cancer
A cancer diagnosis can be devastating emotionally, but oftentimes the financial burden is underestimated or overlooked. Even if the patient has insurance, they may face high deductibles or co-payments. Endless doctor appointments may lead to unpaid time off of work. Some patients may become too sick to continue working through treatment. It’s not unusual for all of this time off to lead to the loss of their jobs. Then they struggle to make their COBRA payments in order to keep their insurance.

And it’s not just those women who work outside the home who feel the financial burden. Full-time mothers may need assistance with childcare as they go to doctor appointments, or they may become too sick to offer primary care. The added stress of unpaid bills does not promote a healing environment.

Please join with us in making a difference in women’s lives!
