Who can apply for support?
The Pay It Forward Fund helps women struggling financially while undergoing breast, ovarian, cervical and uterine cancer treatment.  The fund assists patients receiving treatment at the Humphrey Cancer Center locations including North Memorial, Unity & Mercy Hospitals.

How can I apply for support?
If you are a patient undergoing treatment for women’s cancer (breast, ovarian, uterine and cervical) at one of the Hubert Humphrey Cancer Center locations, and are in need of assistance, you should notify your doctor, nurse or social services. They will walk you through the process detailed in our Patient Bill Criteria listed below:

How are the funds processed and received?
An eligible patient who has contacted their doctor, nurse or social services need to submit their bill(s) or a copy of their bill(s).  A check is issued to the creditor and returned to the patient to be mailed in for payment.  Please allow three weeks or more for a check to be processed.

What bills are covered?
Pay It Forward pays basic living expenses such as mortgage, rent, car payment, heat, electric, phone and water bills.  We do not pay medical or dental bills, or bills not listed above.

How much is a patient eligible for?
Patients in need of financial assistance are eligible to receive up to $1,000 over a one-year period while undergoing treatment.

How can I make a donation?
We can accept your donation in the form of a check or credit card.  Checks made out to “Pay It Forward” can be mailed to North Memorial Foundation, 3300 Oakdale Avenue North, Robbinsdale, MN 55422-2900.  We can also accept credit card payments.  Please print the attached PDF file, fill our the form, and fax it to Kenna at 763-520-5657.

What percentage of my donation will be used to help a patient in need?
Since the Pay It Forward Fund is a restricted fund within the North Memorial Foundation, 100% of your donation will be used to help a woman in need. There are no administrative fees taken out of the fund.

Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes, the Pay It Forward Fund is a tax exempt 501(c)(3) under the North Memorial Foundation. You will receive a receipt for your records. Ask your employer about matching your donation.
