Play for PINK

Get your school involved in the Fun(d)

Hosting a Play for Pink event for can help teach your players the value of community service, raise money for local patients in need and create excitement around a home game by rallying students and fans to a good cause, not to mention having fun while truly making a difference.

Teams have raised money through:

* Entrance donations or “pass the hat” at half time

* Raffle tickets sold before and during the big game - for example a prize

   raffle or a 50/50 raffle  

* A portion of ticket sales and/or concession sales from that game night 

* Bake sale during the game

* A half time contest (i.e. a puck toss for hockey or a shoot out for

   basketball) make it specific for your sport!

* Bake sale during the game

*Pink T-shirt, bracelet and/or sticker sales before and during the game

* Have a silent auction of items donated by local businesses

* Find a sponsor and have their donation tied into the score of the game

     -Basketball example: - If your team scores over 50 points – they will

      donate $500 to PIFF

     -Hockey example – If your team scores first – they will donate $500 to


     -If your team wins – they will donate $500 to PIFF

* Concession stand sales

* Be creative and come up with your own idea that works for your team
